Why choose us?

One of our six strategic aims is to create a great place to work and we achieve this through a shared sense of pride and ambition.

We place a strong emphasis on the health and wellbeing of our staff and, in recent years, have bolstered the range of support that is available to people. Our annual NHS Staff Survey findings tell us that staff appreciate our efforts to be a good employer, particularly in areas such as flexible working – where we were proud to be ranked first nationally among mental health providers this year.

If you join us, we will do everything we can to support and develop our staff, this includes:

  • Restorative, Just and Learning culture
  • Compassionate leadership
  • Flexible working
  • Range of health and wellbeing programmes
  • Team-based approach
  • Focus on career and leadership development
  • Fantastic CPD opportunities
  • Involvement in ground-breaking research.

As well as supporting the health and wellbeing of our staff, engaging in a meaningful way with them and celebrating their many successes and achievements is key to creating a great place to work. Alongside many other engagement activities, we hold a series of Our Journey events every year – where members of our Executive Team get out and about across the county to listen to our staff and to talk about our work.

We also hold an annual Pride of DPT event, which is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the achievements of individuals and teams across our organisation. We are strong advocates of our senior leaders being visible and approachable across the organisation. All of our Executive and Non-Executive Directors participate in team visits on a regular basis, checking-in with staff and giving them the opportunity to feedback their experiences.
