Welcome from Andy Willis, Chair
Thank you for your interest in this exciting leadership role. This is a great time to be joining Devon Partnership NHS Trust (DPT) and our ambitious team.
We are vocal advocates for people with mental health, learning disability and neurodiversity needs and we are passionate about promoting good mental health and wellbeing. We are looking for a new Chief Executive Officer with the right values, commitment and energy to lead our organisation through the next phase of its development.
Currently rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission, we aspire to be an ‘Outstanding’ organisation providing the very best care to our communities and the best possible working environment for our people. We are proud to be embedding a Restorative, Just and Learning culture in which inclusion and compassionate leadership play key roles.
We strive to use the expertise that sits within our own organisation and the resources and skills of our partners across the health and care economy to enable us to deliver high quality services that are safe, focused on people’s recovery and driven by the voices of those who use them.
At DPT we endeavour to be open, responsive and inclusive in our attitude and our practices, engaging internally and externally to ensure we learn from others. As a Board, we are clear that truly outstanding services can only be delivered by an empowered workforce, supported by an innovative digitalisation strategy that ensures care is delivered to the people using our services in a personalised, accessible and responsive way. Our next Chief Executive Officer will be critical in delivering this ambition.
We have continued to deliver a balanced financial position in the face of some challenging circumstances and our growth trajectory has been significant. We play a lead role in two Provider Collaboratives and, in recent years, our income has increased by around 50%. Like all NHS organisations, we are considering how we can deliver this expansion of high quality services in new and different ways in the face of increasing demand in many areas. This will need to be be a key focus for our next Chief Executive Officer.
We have achieved a huge amount in recent years in terms of developments and improvements – but there is always more to do. We are working closely with our partners nationally, across the South West region and here in Devon to ensure that people receive more joined-up services. Through our partner relationships and collaborative infrastructure, the Chief Executive Officer will play a key role in the transformation of services in Devon. Working together at Integrated Care System (ICS), regional and national level to create sustainable, innovative models of care that address health inequalities and maximise our use of technology.
We recognise the importance of balancing home and work life. Devon offers people the opportunity of a fantastic lifestyle and a beautiful place to live and work. Our communities are active, supportive and friendly.
I hope that you find the information on this site helpful and informative, and thank you once again for showing an interest in DPT, our people and our work.
