A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR
Dear colleague,
Thank you for your interest in the Chief Executive role at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LUHFT). This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational leader to help us achieve our strategic ambitions.
We are one of the largest Trusts in the country, employing more than 13,000 colleagues who are committed to one mission – working together to deliver outstanding healthcare. Our hospitals provide essential care for our local communities, as well as a range of highly-specialist services to people in the North West of England and beyond.
We are looking for an exceptional Chief Executive who will provide the leadership, values, drive, energy, and enthusiasm we need to bring our people and partners together to provide healthcare that meets needs, delivers exceptional clinical outcomes, and addresses the significant health inequalities which exist across our city.
The successful candidate will have professional credibility, strong strategic vision, and an effective track record of leading change to achieve excellence. We are looking for an established Chief Executive with significant experience within the health and care sector to continue the work established by our interim Chief Executive, Sir David Dalton, focusing on developing the culture, quality of care and effectiveness of the organisation.
Above all, you will be able to demonstrate that you have the skills and ability to work with the Board and senior colleagues to provide strong leadership for our excellent staff at this pivotal point in our development.
There are significant challenges to address. However, you also have the opportunity to work with committed and forward-thinking staff and collaborative partners to shape and influence the future of healthcare for the people of the Liverpool City Region and our wider footprint. Liverpool is a city with a proud history and a fantastic future, and we are excited to play our part here at Liverpool University Hospitals.
What you’ll get from the organisation is passion, community spirit and teamwork, a willingness to speak up for what we believe in, a great sense of humour, and pride in our work. These qualities underpin our Board and our colleagues’ commitment to deliver outstanding care. The Board is united in its determination to achieve this.
This recruitment pack will give you an insight into our vision, our plans for the future, and what makes Liverpool University Hospitals a special place to work.
If you share our values and ambition, and believe that you are the right candidate to lead our organisation, I look forward to receiving your application.
