About us

King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

KCH is one of the country’s largest and busiest teaching hospitals, primarily serving the London Boroughs of Southwark, Lambeth, Lewisham, and Bromley, with a population of over 1 million people, and acting as a referral centre for millions more.

The Trust operates with a group structure, based around the two main hospital sites, Denmark Hill and the Princess Royal University Hospital and South Sites (PRUH). By organising in this way, the Trust is able to group the resources required for delivering similar types of care so that it can improve patient pathways and increase the efficiency of service delivery. It also aims to provide clearer accountability. Our nearly 15,000 exceptionally talented and motivated staff work together as Team King’s – delivering the best for our patients.

We provide a strong profile of local hospital services for people living in the boroughs and our specialist services are also available to patients from a wider area. We are proud to provide nationally- and internationallyrecognised treatment and care in liver disease and transplantation, neurosciences, haemato-oncology, and fetal medicine.
