Non-Executive Director
QUALIFICATIONS
We are keen to receive applications from candidates from a diverse range of personal and professional backgrounds.
You should be able to demonstrate a good level of professional expertise and knowledge within an area such as IT, Customer (Patient) Care, Legal, Finance (Audit or Accountancy qualification or equivalent) or Care Services.
We would not necessarily expect candidates for the Associate NED roles to be able to evidence all of the competencies to the same degree.

Associate Non-Executive Director

- Sufficient senior level experience from the public, private or voluntary sector to:
- Bring independence, external perspectives, skills and challenge to strategy development
- Use personal knowledge and experience to help hold the Executive to account by providing scrutiny and challenge using strong analytical skills to review and interpret complex information to identify risks and evaluate options
- Promote the best outcomes for patients by encouraging continuous improvement, clinical excellence and value for money
- Balance organisational priorities with system collaboration
- A general understanding of the NHS and the evolving healthcare policy context
- An understanding of good corporate governance
- Motivated to drive own learning and development and able to engage with and add value to the work of the Board and its Committees

Eligibility for both Non-Executive Directors and Associate Non-Executive Director roles
- Eligible to be a member of a public constituency of the Trust
- Meet the independence criteria for Non-Executive Directors and meet the Fit and Proper Persons Requirement as defined in the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulation of Regulated Activities) (Amendment) Regulations 2004
- Not disbarred from membership of the Board of Directors under any of the disqualification criteria listed below
- Sufficient time available to fulfil the requirements of the post
