Welcome from the Chief Digital Officer
Thank you for your interest in these Deputy Chief Digital Information Officer roles. This is a pivotal time to be joining our Digital Health team.
As we drive forward an ambitious digital transformation programme aligned to both national priorities and local patient needs, this role will be key to delivering improvements that truly matter – enhancing care, empowering staff, and strengthening our digital foundations across Dorset and beyond.
We are committed to our Patient First Improvement System and five shared priorities: to see our patients sooner; to be a great place to work; to improve patient experience; to save lives and improve patient safety; and to use every NHS pound wisely. These values underpin our transformational vision and are embedded into how we deliver care every day.
We have a bold digital future ahead. With the ongoing implementation of a new integrated Electronic Patient Record (EPR) across Dorset and into Somerset, the next phase of our digital journey will support improved clinical outcomes, safer care, and a more seamless experience for patients and clinicians alike. As Deputy CDIO, you will play a central role in making this happen – supporting digital maturity, promoting interoperability, and championing data-driven decision-making across the system.
Collaboration is at the heart of our success. Working within a progressive Integrated Care System (ICS), we are embracing the national Frontline Digitisation agenda and working toward a more connected and efficient digital ecosystem. You will work closely with internal teams, partner organisations, and national bodies to help ensure our digital capabilities meet the evolving needs of modern healthcare.
We are looking for two values-driven digital leaders – with strong operational and strategic acumen, a deep understanding of digital technologies in a healthcare context, and a genuine passion for improving care through innovation.
Experience in delivering complex digital programmes, particularly EPR implementations, will be highly valued, as will your ability to lead and inspire multi-disciplinary teams in a dynamic environment.
The digital leaders are currently leading the development of a Digital Strategy for the whole of Dorset, working closely with clinical and operational leaders. We are at a pivotal moment in Dorset where the ambition for how digital and data can bring together our services is at an all time high. We have the backing of all our Boards to create a digital roadmap for Dorset that empowers our staff and improves the experience for our patients. You will be part of the Dorset Digital Senior leadership team tasked with leading the transition to the new ways of working, supporting optimisation and adoption of the new technologies and driving transformation.
