About the role
As part of NW Surrey Health and Care Alliance leadership team, the Director of Communications, Engagement & Experience will share the strategic responsibility for improving the health outcomes of local people across the Alliance, as well as holding the equivalent post across Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, having reporting lines to both the Place-based Accountable Officer and Trust CEO.
We are looking for someone who can provide strategic communications and engagement advice and support, ensuring that our strategy and interventions are formulated in partnership with local residents, and are communicated across our partnership, through a clear and compelling narrative. What is unique about this role is the ambition to expand upon the traditional communications functions of public sector organisations. We believe effective communication is a fundamental prerequisite to delivering high-quality care and support and we want to radically improve the way our services are accessed and navigated. This is an exciting opportunity to work with an ambitious group of partners, keen to grow a national and international profile.
The successful candidate will be a very experienced Communications and Engagement senior leader who has previous worked in a customer-focused environment. They will be an exceptional communicator, able to build strong and influential relationships across our partnership and beyond. They will be able to plan and facilitate activities involving a range of stakeholders, including staff, residents, the media and politicians. They will be a strategic thinker with proven leadership capability.
