Both FTs have high ambitions and are committed to delivering more together for the populations we serve. Under the leadership of the ICB, our two trusts have been working together with Durham and Darlington FT on a Clinical Services Review programme to review our services and to identify how we can better provide those services across our complex geography for the benefit of our patients.

In the spirit of greater collaboration, the two Trusts have already appointed a Joint Trust Chair and have taken the decision to move to a Group model and the appointment of a Joint Group Chief Executive.

We are therefore seeking to appoint an experienced, dynamic, and high calibre individual who will be responsible for the strategic leadership and operational management of both organisations, to help us deliver our shared ambitions. The successful candidate will be politically astute and an exceptional communicator and this will be demonstrated through a track record of building trusted relationships.

The successful candidate will help shape the new Group executive team structure and the development, implementation, embedding and ongoing review of a revised and streamlined but robust governance framework in support of the Group model.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivery within a large NHS organisation, have experience of delivering significant, largescale transformational change as well as building and leading successful and effective teams.

The ideal candidate must also possess exceptional communication, interpersonal, negotiating and influencing skills, the ability to build effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders and the ability to hold to account for agreed performance and improvement targets. We are looking for someone who will help shape the vision and deliver the long-term benefits of the Group Model.
